Sitting down to chat with Dotti Lyne about his new single, “Long Day” was an eye-opening experience. As a creative mogul in the music industry for about 13 years now, Dotti Lyne holds valuable experience and knowledge he aims to express through his music and artistic craft. As a writer, producer, and mixer, Dotti Lyne recognizes his biggest asset to be finding new ways or different approaches to authentically shape and style his craft. In my opinion, he successfully gives a voice to this artistic freedom through his career in music and the entertainment industry.

One approach Dotti Lyne has taken to switch up his style was to rely on his own vocal talent rather than altering his voice to blend into the mainstream culture of popular music. The track titled “Long Day” comes after a personal year-long break from music for the artist. This break was needed for the creative to center his personal life, inner peace of mind, and to refocus his artistic pursuit and purpose. Dotti Lyne emphasizes the importance of staying true to yourself as an artist in order to produce raw and personal tracks that anyone can connect with and relate to.

“Long Day” is one such track that exhibits this raw realness and relatability. Almost everyone has experienced a moment of helplessness, where they feel at the end of their rope, wondering how they will make it through to the next day. However, this track in itself proves that when we persevere through hard times, we only come out stronger and more equipped to face the next battle. For example, even after taking a short personal break from music, Dotti Lyne has received large unprecedented amounts of feedback and support after releasing this new track.  

The message behind this song titled “Long Day” is complimented by its music video which was released on YouTube. The video creates a spaced-out vibe that comes off as futuristic through the effects of animation. Dotti Lyne explains that this video is meant to represent the idea of staying in your own lane by taking time to yourself to focus on being authentic. You always got to keep pushing yourself to get through life’s battles and hardships in order to forge a path into a prosperous future.
