Their style incorporates elements from many genres, and The Brightside is paving the path for a new generation of sound. Their songs feature hard-hitting drums, catchy pop vocals, wailing guitar leads, and huge EDM drops. The band is comprised of the Moran brothers: Jacob Moran (lead singer), older brother Jesse Moran (drummer/vocalist), and youngest brother Dylan Moran (bassist/vocalist); plus their best friend, Rory Turtoro (guitarist/vocals). Their latest release, “More to Me,” is attracting a huge following. After it went viral on TikTok, the song gained over 160,000 streams, becoming the band’s biggest release yet. The track is very different from what they have put out before. It’s more on the dance style with a flare of rock influence.

“We are super excited from the response we’ve received for the song, and we’re hyped to play it live,” The Brightside says.

Although they have been making music all their lives, it wasn’t until the fall of 2018 that the group started officially releasing music as a group. They are all self-taught and The Brightside has dedicated a great deal of time to studying songs they love, learning the different parts from drums to guitar and vocals. They spend hours of their day jamming together, practicing their craft, and developing their skills as artists.

Currently based in Phoenix, Arizona, The Brightside is known for putting on high-energy performances. Career highlights include performing at the iHeart Radio Festival Headliner for a crowd of 800 people. Shows in their community sell out fast, something the band takes pride in, considering the difficulty of breaking into their local music scene. Audiences go crazy for them and The Brightside enjoys making fans feel welcome by creating a safe space to let loose in.

“Rock flows through our veins and we love mixing the perfect blend of Rock and Pop to give a new and modern take of what a rockstar can be,” the group says.

The Brightside agrees that the best part of their work is engaging with their followers. Fans will approach them after shows or send them messages on social media telling the band how much their songs mean to them.

“We have had countless amounts of people tell us that our music has saved their lives,” The Brightside says. “To us, there’s nothing better.”

Known for melodic layers of uplifting lyrics, rock instrumentals, and pulsing beats, The Brightside is influenced by both modern and classic artists. Old-school rock groups like Motley Crue influenced a lot of The Brightside’s attitude and style. They also appreciate the vibe of current DJs like The Chainsmokers, ILLENIUM, and Marshmello. The Brightside draws on creating a unique soundscape and smooth transitions for their live shows. Another modern artist they respect is Yung Blud.

“He is a powerhouse and can carry a show all on his own,” The Brightside explains, “and Jake really emulates that energy in his own unique way.”

When it comes down to it, The Brightside doesn’t give a damn about how others see them. They are unapologetically themselves. With a completely original sound, they are in the early stages of creating something revolutionary.

“We might be the only artists or a select few of them that are creating a new era of rock and electronic music,” the group says. “Rock and EDM together is a very new and undiscovered blend of genres that, when done in the right way, will dominate the world. And we will be the first to do it.”
